Advent

This year was our first time to plan a Reading Family Advent. It's been a fun and festive way to count down to Christmas and incorporate all of the fun things that the season brings! Our advent countdown this year included...
{Pics from the first few days have already been blogged}
Day 1: Joy to the world! Let's make Christmas cards!
Day 2: Baby it's cold outside-warm up with new jambes and cocoa
Day 3: Put on a Christmas record and jingle bell rock the night away =D
Day 4: Window shopping on Ballard Ave
Day 5: The hanging of the greens with our United family
Day 6: He's making a list, checking it twice...time to visit Santa!
Day 7: Deck the Halls! Decorate our house for Christmas and make ornaments with Nana B
Day 8: Since we've no place to go, let it snow! Go see it snow at Pacific Place!
Day 9: Write Santa a letter
Day 10: Decorate a gingerbread boy and girl cookie (with edible markers!!)
Day 11: Make a snowman pizza for dinner
Day 12: Shopping is snow much fun! Let's go to Snowflake Lane to watch the parade and then shop for gifts to each other!
Day 13: Jesus came to help those in need...lets join Him in doing a good deed. Daddy served at SPU with tent city-building tents for a homeless community to have a safe/communal place to live through the holidays. The kids and I went shopping for food to give to a shelter.
Day 14: Let's bring peace to others this Christmas by choosing a card from the giving tree.
Day 15: This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine-drive around and look at Christmas lights!

While we were out looking at the lights, we found this fun van...
 And this leg lamp like the one from the Christmas Story hahaha. People here are just so fantastically quirky...
 Day 16: The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear...Ella's choir concert!
Day 17: Read a Christmas book
Day 18: Ho Ho Ho, go put on a show! Luca's Christmas pageant and Ella's choir concert at school!
Day 19: Last day of school + early release for the winter break = SLEEPOVER!!!

 I took the girls to see Annie.
 They sang and danced for the rest of the night ;)

 Day 20: watch a Christmas movie by the fire!
Day 21: Jesus loves me this I know...show someone you love them with a random act of kindness today.

Ella also had another choir concert on this day. Her concert was at Swansons...so it was the perfect opportunity to go see the reindeer!

 She put on a little show bee-bopping with the songs :) Afterwards she asked if there were people that came to see them. I said I'm sure that there were! Then she asked, "sooooo....am I a little famous?" ;)

***Today!***
Day 22: The boys will get a Christmas treat while the girls go watch dancing feet...let's get dressed up and see the Nutcracker ballet!
{Pics to follow in another post}
Day 23: Christmas is the time we celebrate the birth of baby Jesus. Let's make him a birthday treat and read the Christmas story!
Day 24: Santa Clause is coming to town! But before we head to bed, lets attend our candlelight service at church!

So we have 2 days left, but that is how we've spent our holiday season!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
