Memorial Day Weekend 2010

We started off the weekend on Friday going to my 30 week doctor's appointment. We had an ultrasound done to check on the little guy and the lady was nice enough to flip on the 3D/4D switch for us to catch a glimpse of his sweet face...and check out the cheeks on this little dude! So pinchable and kissable :) We are going back next week for a full 4D session so stay tuned for more pics! Luca is measuring 2 WEEKS ahead in size and is predicted to be a big boy unless he majorly slows down in the coming weeks. He is weighing in at 3 lbs 14 oz!
On Saturday, we spent some much needed and long overdue family time together...all 3 1/2 of us :0) First we went to Ella's gymnastics class and she did great! Last year we did a mommy and me class. This year she is of age to do an independent class with just the teachers...which is a little sad, but I really have no business bouncing all over a gym in my condition so I guess it's for the better :0) It's just one more "big girl" thing that she is doing now a days which is one more "baby girl" thing I have to let go of :(
She was so excited and continued to tell us in the car the whole way there, "Moddy, I so excited!!" (Moddy is Mike and I's hollywood name that Ella has given us...it's half Mommy and half Daddy) I guess she thinks we're the next Brangelina ;0)

This is also our little rock star showing her enthusiasm with her "rock on" signal...another new Ella thing as of lately! I think this was her way of saying, "Mom...Dad...Let me go do my thing...I've got this!"
She took right off with the class, didn't cry, and listened so well! Again, all good things, but very "big girl" things which brings mixed emotions for Mommy! It was a huge difference from our mommy and me gymnastics class last year where I ran about 30 circles around the gym chasing her down to bring her back to our class :)

She was so proud of herself. She looked for us after every move she made with the cutest little smirk on her face to make sure we were looking and taking pictures. She even yelled out, "DADDY LOOK AT ME"!!!

"Moddy, are you looking at me?!?!"

At the beginning of the class, she told this instructor to "go away" before she would do/perform anything! So he played along and by the end they were buddies.
After gymnastics, we had a family breakfast at McDonalds and then headed to the theater to see the new Shrek 4 movie! After that, it was home to nap...so far the perfect start to a relaxing Memorial Day weekend! We've been so busy lately...too busy...and I think we all are very happy to just spend the weekend ALL together. It's just what we've been needing!

Terrifically Two!

These are Ella Avery's 2 year pictures...tear tear! I still see her baby face when I look at them but I can also see the beautiful little girl that she is becoming. I'm posting them a little late, which is so not my style, but just so you know they were taken closer to the 2 year mark :) Enjoy!

We are so in love!

This is so Ella...the girl loves to dance!

I love these baby feet :)

This dress was my dress when I was a little girl. It was my absolute most favorite dress in the world and I can still remember wearing it. I was so excited for my little girl to wear it too!

Warm up your vocals...

***Sung to the tune of The Brady Bunch song***
Here's a story, of two lovely ladies,
who were rockin Lakeside teachers and besties...

Both of them had little girls, and seminary hubbies,
so close we all came to be....

And then one day when I said, "I'm having a baby!",
She said, "me too!" We're due 10 days apart...

And then the news just got even better,
Our paths have never been to far apart...
We both have baby boys,
in our bellies,
another round of besties there will be...
ba da ba da ba!!!
Haha! Do you like my song? I'm kinda proud of myself...I think the hormones are really getting to me :)

Graduation!

Look at us now! We did it!
I feel like we have come full circle. When we moved here for the adventure that was DTS, we were new to Texas and expecting our first little bundle of loveliness :) We were naive and had no idea what was ahead of us! There were a lot of emotions, excitement, newness, and little journeys along the way. A lot has happened since then. We have roots, the best friends ever, we had our first baby girl and became a family, and we made a life here! Now we have wrapped up this part of the journey and Mike has graduated. And with his graduation, we are adding another little addition to the family. When I look back and see how sweet (and a little scary...but mostly sweet) those times were, it gets me super excited about the next stage of the journey that we are about to embark on.It was truly a precious time for Mike and I. We clung to each other and learned how to lean on each other. All we had was each other for a while in the big wide world...and then came Ella :) Our marriage grew so much and we became closer than ever. We both grew up a lot and we grew up together. God has blessed us with such a wonderful journey here. I wouldn't change a thing or have it any other way. It was a huge time in our lives that has defined our family of 3. Now Ella is 2 1/2, Mike has graduated, and we are awaiting Luca's arrival. As for the next phase of our journey, I don't know exactly what it looks like, but I know it will be a sweet time and a whole new adventure is about to take place! One that I'll look back on with just as fond memories as this. I can't wait!
Mike's sister and brother in law cooked a nice Cajun family dinner to celebrate Mike's accomplishment...complete with cards, streamers, and balloons! It was so sweet and meant a lot. Mike chose not to walk at graduation, so it was fun to have some sort of celebration. And who better to have it with than family?!?
These ornery little girls are so sweet. I had a cousin that was my age growing up and she was a huge part of my childhood...such sweet memories. I'm excited that these little girls, only two weeks apart, will always have each other and that special bond like I had.
I know they look sweet, and they are, but you shouldn't be fooled :) They seem to be great partners in crime. Just as they should be! Sugar and spice and everything nice, that's what THESE little girls are made of!
My pretty girl ;)

Lakeside Baby Shower!

I had my baby shower at school yesterday...so exciting! I got some sweet baby boy items and a lot of gift cards so I can go shop and pick out the many things this little guy still needs :)
My awesome teamies!

There has been an official "Lakeside Baby Boom" this year! Seriously, we have had 7 pregnant teachers. 3 of us are missing in this picture and it was taken a few months ago so we all are a little more ripe now and 4 have delivered! Everywhere you turn in this school there is a big ole belly coming around the corner :) I am number 6 and my friend Lindsay on the right is number 7. And who knows...there is probably more to announce before the year is over! If you are not planning on babies right now, I seriously advise you not to drink the water or even enter the building for that matter. I think it is in the air too! We have one male teacher and I even think he should proceed with caution :)

These are all boy bellies in this picture except for Tamera on the right! The boys have taken the lead in the Lakeside Baby Boom with 4 for the blue team and 3 for the pink.

6 months along...and growing

So baby Luca is 6 months along in the belly and he only has 3 more until he gets to come meet his Mommy, Daddy, big sister Ella, and the WORLD!
He's head down now, which I am soooo thankful for and I'm hoping he stays that way! It feels so much better than the other way and I've got some more eating and breathing room! I love to eat these days, and breathing is nice too, so I'm a happy mama. I can feel his little feet up in the right side of my ribs and he has found the same tickle spot that Ella did. When I lay in bed, he loves to dig his little hands in my left side and it is the equivalent of being tied down and tickled to death. But I don't mind because I know as soon as he comes out, I'll miss him being safe and sound in there :)

The evolution of the Luca belly...

Luca is taking practice breaths. He can hear and taste. He is opening his eyes. He's about 2 pounds and is 15 inches head to toe! And his hair has color now. We really don't know what to predict or expect as far as eyes and hair simply because of his beautiful blond hair blue eyed sister! If I had to guess though, I guess I would predict dark hair. He will be perfect either way!
