A White Christmas!

Christmas this year was awesome. We got to visit ALL of our family in Arkansas and it even snowed on Christmas Eve. We are back at home now and are enjoying a few days of rest and relaxation in our cozy home before heading back to work! Here are our Christmas pics! (Be sure to look all the way to the bottom to see Ella, Daddy, and Kenzie's dance party...priceless)
My sweet family

The grandkids
We spent Christmas Eve at Mimi and Pop's house and got snowed in! We had a birthday party for Jesus, read the Christmas story, and enjoyed the snow. I didn't get a lot of pics on Christmas Eve. There are a lot more little kids so it's hard to keep up with the camera :0)

We spent Christmas morning at Nana B and Bobo's house and then spent the day with family!

After Christmas, we went to Springfield, MO to visit Mike's grandmother, Aunt, and Mike's cousin and then we went back to Van Buren with his parents to spend some more time with Mimi and Pops.

Dance Party 2009!! This microphone was a present from Mimi and was a hit! We all got to see the little diva in Ella come out :0) She definitely knew how to rock the michrophone!

Don't you think this pic would be great for her wedding video someday?!?

Merry Christmas To All!!

Miss Ella and Lucy waiting for their social Daddy's to take them home after church last Sunday! They were both proudly sporting their backpacks.

Yesterday, we took Ella to see Santa Clause! We found this quaint little toy shop in Southlake. It was so much fun...Santa was beautiful, and of course we ended up shopping and coming home with toys!!
Ella has been talking about Santa Clause for weeks. She always points him out and gets super excited. She even bailed out of her stroller at the mall trying to get to him. It was all fun and games on the reindeer...
until it was actually time to face the big guy :0) She freaked out of course! I'm not above throwing her in the lap for a few seconds anyway for picture purposes (like last years), but she clung on for dear life screaming, "mommy no mommy no!" so we had to get more creative!

First we talked with Santa and then she decided that was a definite no, so I sat in Santa's chair, she sat on my lap, and Santa snuck around to the back. We got the picture and then Santa's jingle bells jangled and she realized he was right behind her and then it was all over. But at least we got the picture! All the way home...and I do mean the entire 30 minute drive home...Ella kept repeating, "Santa Clause scary!" Ha! They are sending it to me in the mail so I'll post it as soon as it comes in!
We are off to Arkansas tomorrow so we will see you after the New Year! We didn't get our Christmas cards out in time this year, so we want to send out warm holiday wishes to everyone from our family to yours. We love you and wish you a very merry Christmas!!

5 More Days...

until 2 ever so wonderful weeks of CHRISTMAS BREAK!!! Boy do we have big plans. Due to the fact that we have been Christmasing like crazy getting ready to head home for the holidays, I haven't been my usual self- obsessively photographing every little move Ella makes. But trust me when I say we have been having so much fun this Christmas season and plan to go visit Santa this week. Hopefully that goes better than last year :0) She gets so excited when she sees him on we'll just have to see!
This picture reminds me so much of someone or something...but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Festive Family Weekend

This weekend, my mom and some family came to town for our annual Christmas get together. Since we moved to Dallas, they just decided to start making a weekend trip around the holidays! We ate, went to see A Christmas Carol at the IMAX, ate, shopped, ate, and shopped some more! I think it would be a fair question to ask what we did more of...eating or shopping?!? We enjoyed ourselves spending time together and catching up on life these days. Here are a couple I said, we were so busy eating and shopping that we didn't get a lot of pics :0)

Gobble Gobble!

Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays!
We started the week with my family in Springdale. For some reason, I didn't get any pics of all of my family at our family Thanksgiving :( is Nana B and Papa Bo which Ella has renamed to "Bobo" at the time being. I think it's pretty cute!
Ella and Bobo!
Ella also learned to tell us that she's two!
We went to The Square with some family and family friends for our annual ornament exchange and to look at the lights. Ella and I took a camel ride...yes, that's right, a camel!! Ella thought it was a horse. We are still a little confused on some of our animals ;0
I just had to post this picture because I just think it is hilarious! The man looks about as amused as the camel! ha!

Ella petting the mini horse, which she thought was a puppy :)
a pony ride with Nana B...
Ella's special friend...Joshua
and she's going in for a hug!
We ended the night at Common Grounds (awesome coffee shop on Dickson Street) with our annual ornament exchange!
My little dancing queen dancing her heart out on Dickson Street :0) As we were leaving Common Grounds, the bar next door was blaring their music. Ella was "feeling groovy" so she stood outside dancing like the the wild woman she is!

Then we went to Van Buren for the Reading Thanksgiving feast!

The annual Reading weenie roast...

And on Thanksgiving Day, Mike's sister got engaged! Ella is going to have an Uncle Andrew!
My sweet niece Sophie and my baby Ella :0) Ella is such a little mommy and is fascinated with babies...especially her "soapy"!
This bathtime quickly turned sour following this photo...memories!

Ella and of her greats!
And I hosted a baby shower for my cousin Kimberly! Little Kennedy Jane will be here in just a few short weeks!
We won't be in Arkansas for Christmas Sunday so Ella got to wear the Christmas dress is a little sneak peak! I just love it. I bought it for her when she was teeny tiny and couldn't even imagine it ever fitting her but I think it is the perfect dress for my sweet Ella. It seriously has her name written all over it :0)

And now we are settled back at home until Christmas!
