Yesterday, Ella was 1 year and 13 days old, and that was the day she started walking!!! When we got home from school, I put her down. I peeked my head in her room and she grabbed her stuffed pumpkin off of her nightstand and then walked across the room step by step to give it to me! I pulled out the video camera and took pictures and video of her first steps. The most special part about it was that I got to see them for the first time and experience that proud parent moment of watching my little baby walk for the first time! Had I picked her up 30 minutes later, I may have missed it. This is a little video that Nit took. I'll post some video clips and pictures of my footage later. This video was from today...learning to walk was so yesterday~

Today we took our second annual trip to the pumpkin patch! My mom would take me and my cousins to the pumpkin patch every year when I was a kid...and even when I was an adult :0) So, we are continuing this tradition with Ella! We opened her halloween present from Nana B and Papa Bo and then we made breakfast. Ella took a nap and we leisurely got ready. We went to eat lunch and then we were off to the pumpkin patch! We realized how far we had come in 1 year. Last year, Ella was only 3 weeks old. We woke up and started getting ready right away and didn't manage to get to the pumpkin patch until 4:00 pm and left when the sun was going down! At that point, I was wondering if we would ever be able to leave the house to do anything! We've made a lot of progress toting the baby around :0) Here are a few pics...
This was a fun train ride! Ella got excited and stood in my lap and did her dancey dance all the way around the patch!
It took a minute to convince Ella that this was not another medical procedure she was being tricked into :0) Just some harmless face painting!
This is her new favorite passy :0) Yes, a passy! It replaced the thumb today.
Searching for the perfect pumpkin
But Daddy, I want this one!!! We've already decided that next year we are coming equipped to buy a pumpkin bigger than Ella.
Daddy started it :0)
Ella's pumpkins...the one on the left is an owl for my little Chi-O legacy! Hootie hoo!
And then she crashed!
A little trip down memory lane...here are a couple more pics of our trip to the pumpkin patch last year!

Ella's birthday was a hit. It was everything I had been dreaming of, hoping for, and planning for! Everyone was able to make it...even Ella's great grandmother and her great Aunt from Missouri and her Uncle and Aunt and cousins from Oklahoma were able to travel to be there. The weather was beautiful and it was such a sweet time. All of her family and closest friends were there. Ella was a tad bit grouchy but hey, it was her party and she could cry if she wanted to!! She was happy for her presents and cake but I think she was a little overwhelmed and she stuck pretty close to us :0) Everyone loved on Ella as much as she would let them and it was such a special time! Ok so I hired a photographer who took some AMAZING pictures, but they are not up on his website yet. When he gets them up and when I get the CD I'll post some on the blog and let you know the website so you can check them all out. It was so busy during the party that I didn't get to take very many pictures but that is what our favorite photographer was there for! Here are the few that I got but I promise there are much better pictures to come.
Yes, I made this highchair cover with my own to hands, my pink sewing machine, and one of my best friends Erin. It was way cheaper and way cuter than the one we found online. Thanks girl!
We sang happy birthday and then gave her her smash cake. When we set the cake down in front of her, she just opened her mouth as wide as she could and sat there like, "is someone going to feed me already?" Mike put her face in it and then she took it from there. It was all fun and games until the icing got into the eye. That is when fun turned to tragedy :0) When she got into the cake, she started making her "halloween face" at everyone. She was in heaven!
After her party, we all cleaned up and went to Market Place for a yummy birthday dinner. She was totally on a sugar high from the cake!
We finished off the birthday evening in Van Buren with Mimi and Pops. We went to church on Sunday and then celebrated Aunt DeeDee's birthday on Sunday. The girls went shopping while the guys stayed home with the babies and watched football. Ella played with her cousins, Kenzie and Jonah and we just had a fun time!
Daddy and Ella at church on Sunday morning.
This is Ella's cousin that is only 2 weeks older than Ella!
This is our nephew Jonah. He is already 2 years old!
A friend that I work with bought Ella the Velveteen Rabbit for her birthday. She didn't even know that this was one of my favorite childhood stories! Anyway, it came with a little velveteen rabbit and Ella cuddled with it all night long. As soon as she pulled it out of the bag, she put it up to her neck to love on it and she never put it down. She is such a snuggle bug!

We are so excited to go home this weekend to have Ella's big first birthday party...and it is going to be a PARTY!!! It is a cupcake theme so all things cupcake will be involved for our little cupcake. There will be plenty of pictures to come next week of her birthday party!
Our little cupcake turned one today! Happy birthday baby girl! When I think about the past year, so many things go through my head. I think about when we found out I was pregnant, when we told our family, when we learned that our he was a she, I think about the night she was born, I think about all of our "learning experiences" with our first baby (and they all bring a smile to my face if not make me laugh out loud), I think of the first 4 months that I basically stayed up all night every night just to make sure she was breathing, how I still worry about every minute thing, I think of each time she learned something new and how proud of her I was, I think of our first Christmas, my first time to bring her home to Arkansas, the first time she smiled, the first time she laughed, the first time she got sick and the list goes on. With all the we have been through the past year, it is hard to believe that it all happened in just one year!
A lot of the things I'm not even able to process yet because it all happened so fast! It has been the most amazing year that I never could have imagined. Our lives have changed so much in one year. Ella changes so much from week to week. We have been so incredibly blessed with this little love. I love our new little family. I get excited about the years to come and I get a little nervous because if they go by as fast as this one did, then I am going to be sending her off to her first day of kindergarten next week! It is also fun to look back and see how much Mike and I have changed and individually in our new roles and how much our marriage has grown. I love this girl! I can't wait to see what the next year brings. Here are some pictures of Ella Bella's big day...
When we got to Nit's house today, she had a little present for Ella. Nit was so excited for Ella's birthday today...and WE LOVE NIT! She takes such good care of Ella and loves on her everyday. She even came to visit her in the hospital. And Ella loves Nit. She actually cried a couple days last week when I took her home! I love that she loves Nit so much but I'm not going to lie...it did break my heart a little bit! Ella is the ultimate momma's girl so Nit must be doing something right :0)
When we got home, we had a present in the mail from Nana and Papa Bo!
Thank you Nana and Papa Bo for my fancy outfit! It will be the first thing I wear the day it cools off!
She even read the card. She loves to read/play with cards, books, magazines...she is definitely her father's daughter. So far she seems interested in things to read. Unfortunately, she didn't get that from her momma :0)
Daddy said that Ella wanted to go out to eat at Razzoo's (Daddy's favorite restaurant) so what the birthday girl wants, the birthday girl gets! At that very moment, exactly one year ago, the doctor's had starved me all day long and wouldn't let me eat before I had Ella and I remember that I had never been so hungry in my entire life, so...that was my justification for eating the entire basket of fried pickles!!! Daddy had his favorite stuffed fish. Baby Ella had pureed squash and bananas! Since it was her birthday and she needed a little treat, we splurged on a side of shredded cheese :0)
They came to sing to her and gave her a free dessert..yum yum. The picture below is the cutest and most confused expression of her trying to figure out why these people were singing at our table. I think she knew it was all for her. She even clapped at the end!
"Here Ella, let mommy and daddy help you with that" :0)
My blue eyed angel baby :0)
